Once the member panics to access the Map Assist service, the call centre will call the member back within 90 seconds. Their location will be established by the time the call to the member is made. The member will then inform the call centre of their required destination.

The call centre agent will key in their required address and provide the member with a recommended route from their current position to their desired destination within 3 minutes of the contacting the member. We make use of Location Based Services to locate members when they activate the panic button. In some situations where there are relatively few cell phone towers in the area, it make take a little longer to establish the exact road the member is travelling on.

Where the member makes use of a Cell C or 8ta network, the call centre agent will be required to ask the member about their location – and then assist them to their destination as normal.
